Buttonwillow students outperformed both the state and Kern County with regard to physical fitness in recent scores announced by the state.
Thanks to California Resources Corporation (CRC) for sharing about the oil industry with our 7th and 8th graders. They shared demonstrations that included digging with a straw for chocolate chips in a muffin. The chocolate chips represented oil deposits. We have a great partnership with CRC.

We have recieved permission from the state to begin operating a pre-school next spring.
Today was Roadrunner Award Day (RAD). Students who earned the 1 hour event could among other things: play basketball, do group games, or make cookies.
Today's nutrition presentation included a salad snack made with beets, raisins, and mandarin oranges. There was also information on beets.
Mr. and Mrs. Claus welcomed families to the BW Tree Lighting and enjoyed a ride in the parade. BW students and band participated as well.
