Our students put their creativity, critical thinking, and engineering skills to the test in our annual Egg Drop Challenge, and the results were incredible! From parachutes to padded boxes, students came up with amazing designs to protect their eggs from a big drop. Some cracked under pressure… but many survived the fall! Thank you CRC (California Resources Corp) for sponsoring our event today!

Color Run 2025 was a great success!
Thank you to our amazing Parent Club for sponsoring the event. Both students and staff had a fantastic time and truly enjoyed the event.
Our 6th grade students had a successful and memorable week at Camp KEEP last week. They participated in a variety of hands-on activities, explored local ecosystems, and built strong connections with their classmates through team-building exercises. Highlights included guided nature hikes, tide pool explorations, and evening campfire programs. Students returned home with new knowledge, great memories, and a deeper appreciation for the environment.

Another successful Ag Day at Buttonwillow School. A huge thank you to our community partners for bringing tractors, hats, prizes, animals, and lunch to share the importance of agriculture with our students.
Middle school students had the opportunity to visit an Avantus solar site today. During the field trip, students explored how solar energy is generated.

Our BW music students had an awesome time at the symphony this weekend! They enjoyed a special pre-symphony dinner at the Bakersfield Museum of Art. The symphony featured LA Phil’s Boris Allakhverdyan and the Bakersfield Youth Symphony Orchestra!
Another successful project has been completed by Mr. Parrish's 3rd Quarter AG Mechanics elective class. Students put in great effort to build a multi-functional bench that offers both seating and workspace for outdoor use.

This year’s Science Fair was held on March 11th at the Mechanics Bank Convention Center. Six girls from our Buttonwillow school, grades 6–8, attended. Although they did not win an award for their science project, they had a great time and gained valuable experience for next year.
