Parents and Guardians
In June, the Buttonwillow School Board and the school administration decided to create a school calendar that was based on COVID 19 possibly worsening in the Winter months. As you have now heard we are most likely heading back to the purple tier this week.
While we will be offering an on-line winter session for grades Preschool through 8th, we also know that some people may choose to take a longer vacation. We sincerely hope that you will complete any travel to safe destinations, take precautions, and most of all consider the importance of your child's education as a priority. You have been given an unusually long winter break for safety reasons and should be able to have your child back to school which is scheduled to resume on January 4, 2021.
If you do choose to take an extended vacation we hope that you will follow the travel guidelines for leaving California. You can check out this information about safety measures and a 14 day self quarantine.
Currently all states in the United States and nearly all countries, except island nations are considered to be a high risk location. Please keep this in mind this holiday season.
We ask that you make safety your child's first priority and education your child's second priority.
On behalf of the Buttonwillow School Board and Staff we wish you a wonderful and safe holiday season.
