After one day of our closure things are going smoothly in Buttonwillow. Today's primary focus was on food service which included delivery of food to our outlying families. Thanks to our Food Service, MOT, and Family Resource Center Staff it went very smoothly. It took a bit longer as we visited with families and knocked on some doors to insure that families were doing well.We should be running a little closer to our normal schedule. However please be prepared for any schedule changes based on service needs and the number of families needing assistance.
On the academic side it was wonderful to hear from teachers about the successes they were having in connecting with their students on-line. Using their available chat sources to discuss how to do problems, connecting through Google Classroom, and even using video chats. We even had a chance to connect with our PE teacher Mr. Lafever on Instagram. He has an hourly fitness program that runs live on Instagram from 10:30-11:30 am each morning. We encourage our teachers and students to log into lafeverpe on Instagram to do some fitness activities. We will feature his program on our daily video tomorrow.
