Instead of toys we want to remain focused on one of our district drivers, AVID Elementary. Each month we order gear from a college that the students have the potential to attend after high school. The gear is posted on the wall as it was earlier this year for the University Oregon and Taft College. The students can then put their tickets in for drawings for items such as sweatshirts, t-shirts, backpacks, pens, pencils, mugs, stuffed animals (remember we are doing this from K-8), lanyards, pennants, etc. These drawing are big time for our students. It is great to see students wearing college gear each week, and especially on Wednesdays which is College/AVID Day.
